Maastricht University High Potential Scholarships for International Students in Netherlands, 2021

Maastricht University high potential scholarships are available for international students from outside the EU/EEA countries. Scholarships are awarded to students for pursuing a masters degree programme.
The scholarship is granted for the duration of a maximum of 12 months. In case of a two-year Master’s programme, the scholarship committee will award the scholarship for a maximum of 24 months.
Scholarships are made available by the Maastricht University Scholarship Fund in order to encourage talented students from outside the EU/EEA to follow a Master’s programme at Maastricht University. One of these scholarships is the

Eligibility

-Applicants must be admissible for a master’s programme or graduate programme for professionals at Maastricht University and must not be older than 35 years at the start of the academic year. They may apply simultaneously for a master’s programme and this scholarship. An additional requirement for the Master Psychology: they must be ranked in the top 5 %. This must be proved by an official statement of the University.
-Scholarship applicants must have obtained excellent results in their previous studies. This must be shown in the application file by including, for example, grade lists or reference letters. In case of equivalent qualification, preference will be given to applications, which show that the applicant is among the top 5%.
-Applicants must come from a country outside the EU/EEA and meet the requirements for obtaining an entry visa and residence permit for the Netherlands.

Duration of award(s): The High Potential scholarship is awarded for the duration of the Master’s programme, with a maximum of 12 months. In case of a two-year Master’s programme, the Scholarship Committee will award the scholarship for a maximum of 24 months.

What does it cover? Scholarship includes:

Living expenses € 12,350* (13 months) or € 23,750* (25 months) Paid to students by the UM International Services Desk
Health & liability insurance € 700* Arranged for and paid by the UM International Services Desk
Visa application costs € 171* Arranged for and paid by the UM International Services Desk
Tuition fees € 13,800;  € 15,500 or € 16,800 depending on the tuition of your study programme Arranged for and paid by the UM International Services Desk
Pre-Academic Training costs € 695* Arranged for and paid by the UM International Services Desk

 

How to Apply: To obtain a scholarship, you must have been accepted to a study programme. Please note that you have to send in your scholarship application before you have been accepted for the study programme. The way to send in the Maastricht University scholarship application forms differ per faculty.
