MAPS Scholarships for International Students at Thammasat University in Thailand, 2018

The Master of Arts in Asia-Pacific Studies Program (MAPS) at College of Interdisciplinary Studies, Thammasat University is offering fully funded scholarships. Currently, there are two types of scholarship available for International students and one for Thai students.

Master of Arts in Asia-Pacific Studies (MAPS) is an interdisciplinary graduate program that is designed for internationally – focused students who wish to obtain an in-depth understanding of this fascinating and occasionally turbulent part of the world through multi-faceted and interdisciplinary lenses.

Scholarship Description:

  • Application Deadline: April 30, 2018
  • Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing Master of Arts in Asia Pacific Studies (MAPS).
  • Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in the field of Asia Pacific Studies.
  • Scholarship Award: The scholarship worth approximately 570,000 THB is fully funded and provides the following benefits for the recipient only. The duration of the scholarships covers three academic semesters and one summer semester (approximately 16-18 months depending on academic year announced by Thammasat University). Terms & Conditions may apply.
  • Number of Scholarships: MAPS – Royal Thai Government Scholarship: 6 awards only and MAPS – Thammasat University Scholarship: 10-12 awards
  • Scholarship can be taken in Thailand

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

  • Eligible Countries: Currently, there are two types of scholarship available for International students and one for Thai students.
  • Entrance Requirements:
    A Bachelor’s Degree in any field with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and above from an accredited university.
    Minimum requirement of English Proficiency is 6.5 IELTS (IELTS 6.0 is acceptable see NOTE), 550 for paper-based TOEFL test, 79 for internet-based TOEFL test, and 213 for computer-based TOEFL test or 550 for TU-GET. The official score report of English
    Proficiency is valid only if the test was taken no more than 2 years prior to the last date of the application submission period. However, the requirement for English Proficiency does not apply to native English speakers.
    Students with an international Bachelor’s Degree Program are not required to submit official evidence of English Proficiency test score upon application submission.
    4th-year students who expect to graduate in the 2nd semester may apply for admission by submitting a Certified Letter of Expected Date of Graduation.
    A statement of purpose and Study Plan of approximately 500 words each

  • Passport Copy for International students and Thai ID Card for Thai Students
  • Evidence of Payment (Application Fee, please refer to 1* & 2**)
  • If you enclose any additional document, please specify
