Applications are invited for STEM Scholarship to financially needy students. Scholarship is available for full-time students acquiring their associate’s degrees and/or facilitating their transfer to four-year institutions for continued STEM studies. Under-represented groups, women, and veterans interested in pursuing a degree in STEM are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants will receive a scholarship award of $4,350 each year, for up to two years. The application deadline is November 2, 2015.

( votes)Eligibility: Incoming and current MCCC students who have recently declared or plan to declare a major in STEM (biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, engineering, technology, or math) are encouraged to apply. Under-represented groups, women, and veterans interested in pursuing a degree in STEM are strongly encouraged to apply. Submission of a FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) will be required to demonstrate financial need. Students interested in applying for the SAMS program must:
-Declare a STEM major
-Be a full-time student (minimum of 12 credits per semester)
-Have a minimum GPA of 2.8
-Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or refugee alien.
Scholarship Open for International Students: U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or refugees alien are eligible to apply for this scholarship programme.

Duration of award(s): Scholarship is awarded for a period of two years.
What does it cover? Applicants will receive a scholarship award of $4,350 each year, for up to two years.
Notification: Selected finalists will be contacted for a face-to-face interview with the Selection Committee.
How to Apply: Students interested in the SAMS program should:
-Complete a SAMS student application.
-Submit a one-page personal essay (up to 300 words), describing your academic and career plans.
-Submit one (1) letter of recommendation from either a teacher or professional (STEM field preferred)
-Provide either Accuplacer, SAT, or ACT scores in Math, English, and Reading.
-Submit an unofficial copy of your transcript.
