MIT AgeLab Summer Internship Program in USA, 2019

The MIT AgeLab is seeking a college intern for the summer of 2019. The program is open to assist with a variety of tasks including data collection and data analysis, development of social media materials, and research to support the AgeLab’s ongoing efforts to improve quality of life for older adults and those who care for them.

The program is available to full-time undergraduate students who are legally authorized to work in the US.

To be eligible, applicants must be a full-time undergraduate student who are legally authorized to work in the US.

  • Interest in learning statistical software packages such as SPSS, R and Tableau

Internship Description:

The MIT AgeLab is seeking a college intern for the summer of 2019 to assist with a variety of tasks. Tasks may include:

  • Clean and analyze survey data investigating livable communities
  • Research in-home technology needs of a variety of different older adult and family segments
  • Organize and interview members of the AgeLab’s Lifestyle Leaders Panel to help us gain a better understanding of the lives, challenges, and interests of the oldest age segment
  • Film, edit and compile interviews into short video clips
  • Analyze datasets collected by the AgeLab to discover trends and insights related to the wants and needs of older adults
  • Create content for the AgeLab’s social media platforms
  • Work with and wear the AGNES aging suit to conduct research on older adults’ mobility experiences
  • Support other AgeLab research and staff as needed
