Strathclyde Business School’s Economics Department is inviting applications for MSc Global Sustainable Cities Scholarships for the academic year 2015/16.

These scholarships are only open to students who take up a place on the MSc Leadership for Global Sustainable Cities degree. Up to 4 potential scholarships of £4,250 each open to candidates from the UK/EU and four potential scholarships of £7,000 each open to international students.

  • How to Apply: The mode of application is online.  Applicants are asked to write an essay on one of the six topics below:
  • Over half the world’s population now lives in cities, and urban populations are set to grow. In light of the growing urban population in China, how can Chinese cities adapt to deliver sufficient resources to meet population needs?
  • Changing behaviour is a key part of delivering sustainable futures. How can we persuade urban populations to adopt sustainable behaviours?
  • The application and integration of technologies can contribute to achieving low carbon goals
  • All submissions are to be original, maximum 1000 words in length, typed, double-spaced.
  • Each essay must include a title page with the following information: Title of the essay, student’s name, undergraduate degree, institutions, university, home address, e-mail address, telephone number, and the following statement: “I hereby affirm that this is an original essay and my own work.”
