Tuition Scholarships

Lumberjack Scholars Award: This award is available for Arizona residents with 3.5 core high school GPA. This scholarship covers 100% tuition; it does not cover fees or other expenses. This scholarship is awarded for up to four years.
Founders Non-resident Tuition Scholarship Program: This scholarship is for nonresident students and it includes two awards namely Blue Award and Gold Award. Blue award and gold award are for WUE students only and covers $3,000 per year for up to four years. Blue award applicant must have 3.0-3.49 core where as gold award applicant must have 3.5-4.0 core GPA and test scores of at least a 19 on the ACT or 900 on the SAT (Math and Verbal scores only).
Merit Tuition Scholarship: This scholarship is available for Arizona residents. This scholarship awards $2,500 per year for up to four years, provided you meet the renewal criteria each year.
Dean’s Tuition Scholarship: This scholarship is available to Arizona residents only and based on applicants ACT or SAT scores and core high school GPA. The scholarship awards $3,500 per year for up to four years.
President’s Tuition Scholarship: This scholarship is available for Arizona residents only and awards $6,000 per year for up to four years.
President’s Excellence Non-resident Tuition Scholarship: This scholarship is for out-of-state students and awards $9,000 per year for up to four years. This scholarship is awarded based on applicants ACT or SAT scores and core high school GPA.
President’s Non-resident Tuition Scholarship: This scholarship is for out-of-state students and awards $7,000 per year for up to four years.
Regent’s High Honors Endorsement Scholarship (AIMS): This scholarship is for Arizona residents only and covers 25 percent tuition waiver per year for up to four years. To apply for this scholarship the applicant must be a first-degree seeking undergraduate student.
President’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Scholarship: This scholarship is for both Arizona residents and non-residents. Scholarship is valued at $5,000 per year. To apply for this scholarship the applicant must have received an International Baccalaureate diploma.
International student tuition waivers: The Center for International Education (CIE) offers financial aid and waivers for international students and students interested in studying abroad.

Transfer Student Scholarships

These scholarships target Northern Arizona University transfer students. The university awards following scholarships for transfer students:
2NAU: This scholarship is for Arizona residents only. To be eligible for this scholarship the applicant must be admitted to the 2NAU Joint Admission program. The scholarship awards total amount of $2,000 ($1,000 per term).
Arizona Academic Decathlon: The scholarship is for undergraduate students who are Arizona residents. The scholarship awards $2,000 for the academic year which is renewable for up to eight terms.
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK): This scholarship is open to students who are currently attending a two year college. For this scholarship, applicant must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Arizona residents are eligible for $500 per academic year and non-residents are eligible for $5,000 per academic year that may be applied to tuition only.

NAU Foundation scholarships to NAU students are a gift from generous donors. The foundation awards multiple scholarships across following majors: Academic affairs, Administration and Finance, Arts and Letters, Athletics, Education, Engineering, Forestry and Natural Sciences, Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, Enrollment Management and Student Affairs and Extended Campuses.

NAU Department Scholarships

Many scholarships are offered through major-specific departments. The departments are as follows:
College of Arts and Letters: This college offers scholarships in English, History, Comparative Cultural Studies, Modern Languages, Theatre, School of Art and School of Music.
College of Education (COE): The College of Education Scholarship Committee is comprised of faculty from each of 4 departments (Teaching and Learning, Educational Leadership, Educational Psychology, and Educational Specialties). On average this scholarship close to 80 students are awarded scholarships each year with an average award of $1000.
College of Engineering, Forestry, and Natural Sciences: These scholarships are for U.S students to pursue any of the following programs: Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Construction Management), Environmental Programs, Forestry, Mathematics and Statistics, and Physics and Astronomy.
College of Health and Human Services: This college awards scholarships in Athletic Training, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Dental Hygiene, Health Sciences, Nursing and Physical Therapy. For these scholarships, the candidate must be a holder of  bachelor’s or master’s degree
