Penguin Scholarship for the MA Publishing course – LONDON COLLEGE OF COMMUNICATION

LCC’s School of Printing and Publishing  is delighted to announce that Penguin has chosen to provide its very first publishing scholarship to be awarded, via a competitive basis, to a student to study on the book and journal pathway on the MA in publishing course at the College.

The scholarship is for £3,000 and will be awarded for the academic year 2009-10.

Any graduate student applying for and being accepted for the MA in book publishing for that year will be invited to apply for the scholarship. The deadline for applications is July 30. Once all applications have been received, the winner will be chosen from a committee of senior personnel at Penguin UK and on the MA in book publishing.

Gill Davies, professor in book publishing at the University of the Arts London, stated “It is marvellous that Penguin has chosen the LCC for the very first publishing scholarship to be awarded by the company.”

Helen Fraser, Managing Director of Penguin Books remarked “Penguin is delighted to be supporting the London College of Communication’s publishing masters’ through a scholarship. We admire LCC’s course, value the students who have worked at Penguin either during or after their MA, and are delighted to find a way to reward student excellence through this award.”

    I would like to appreciate your scholarship offer to students all over the world ,especially to African people. I gratuated in sociology and worked for chshire services Ethiopia ,which is working for people with disability more than two years as a social worker. As one disabled women myself I am enjoying helping fellow disabled people in Ethiopia.Currently ,I am here in Uk working for Leonard cheshire Uk as a voluntary worker for three months.They offered me this apportunity so as to empower me and give me the chance to learn more from the way the are helping people with disabilites . Despite my disability and the challenges that I am facing every day in Ethiopia due to people negative attitude and inaccessability of the county,I am striving to upgrade my qualification so as to do some thing better for myself and my poor home country disabled people .I finaly would like to request you to offer me a scholarship in publishing or other related field to socialwork.
