PhD Position in Data Mining at University of Kassel, Germany

The L3S Research Center writes within the DFG priority program “Volunteered Geographic Information: interpretation, visualization and social computing (SPP 1894)” settled project “Topikos – Collaborative topologically and thematically-social indoor mapping”.

The project is supervised by Prof. Dr. Gerd Stumme on Knowledge and Data Kassel University. The position is limited to first two years and to be filled as soon as possible.

The aim of the project is the development of algorithms for topological, thematic and social mapping of indoor events via smartphones.

Eligibility: We are looking for a / n highly motivated / n Mitarbeiter / in which wants to conduct research at the interface of data mining, Web 2.0 and Ubiquitous Web / and brings a good knowledge of machine learning and Stochastics and good programming skills. If you have a very good university degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or a related field, pursue a dissertation and team-oriented research at an international level are interested in an interdisciplinary team of computer scientists and mathematicians, we look forward to receiving your application.
