The candidate should either have obtained an MSc, or acquired a total of 240 higher education credits (of which at least 60 at the advanced level), or acquired in some alternative fashion the equivalent knowledge in geosciences. Preference will be given to those with a strong background in physical geography, GIS and remote sensing, permafrost and soil science, statistics and geochemistry. Experience with fieldwork in remote arctic regions under harsh conditions is considered an advantage. Candidates must be self-motivated, committed and enthusiastic about working in the interdisciplinary research environment provided by the PAGE21 project. The PhD dissertation will be written in English.
