The Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) is providing the PhD Research Position in Spain. The student is employed within ICN2 Nanofabrication Division and the Phononic and Photonic Nanostructures Group.

The Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) is a private foundation created on 11 July 2003 with the objective of becoming a world-renowned centre for Nanoscience and nanotechnology research. It is part of CERCA, the network of Research Centres launched by the Catalan Government as a cornerstone of its long-term strategy to foster the development of a knowledge-based economy.

• Study Subject (s): The position is awarded in the experimental development of novel nanofabrication methods with the aim to realize functional surfaces and devices in a variety of materials and substrates.

• Scholarship Provider: This fixed-term three-year position is funded through the EU project.

Eligibility

• The candidate should have a BSc. and a Master’s degree in Physics, Material Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant studies.
• The person will be highly motivated and prepared to work with tight deadlines.
  Excellent communication skills are an essential and working knowledge of the English language is a prerequisite.
