About

Groundwater investigations and management in Australia have typically been undertaken by professional hydrogeologists, without Traditional Owner input. This project will work with local Traditional Owners to better understand groundwater flow and how it relates to cultural values and rights. It is important that this knowledge is shared and respected in a way that recognizes the locally based form of Indigenous knowledge. The project will create a methodology that can be used across Australia to better combine traditional and hydrogeological knowledge, aiming at providing better groundwater outcomes for traditional owners and the country.
