PhD and Postdoctoral Fellowships at Gyeongsang National University (GNU), Korea

Gyeongsang National University (GNU) is inviting highly motivated and excellent postdoctoral candidate for Postdoctoral Fellowships. The successful postdoctoral candidate is expected to hold a PhD degree and to have experience in related fields. English language skills are required. There are two types of fellowships: Korean Research Fellowship: Up to KRW 70 million per annum per researcher, up to 5 year and Research Fellowship in Brain Korea 21 program: Up to KRW 30 million per annum per researcher, 2 – 4 years.

Study Subject(s): Fellows will take part in one of the following projects:
-Characterization of plasmodesmatal components using molecular-genetic-biochemical study:
-Improvement of local and long-distance sucrose transport using plasmodesmal engineering
-Development of efficient plant homologous recombination technology using CRISPR/Cas9
Course Level: Fellowships are available for pursuing PhD and postdoctoral programme at the Gyeongsang National University (GNU).

For Postdoctoral Fellowships (PDF) successful postdoctoral candidate is expected to hold a Ph.D. degree and to have experience in related fields.

Scholarship Description: University is seeking a highly motivated and excellent candidate for this program. English language skills are required. For Postdoctoral Fellowships (PDF) successful postdoctoral candidate is expected to hold a Ph.D. degree and to have experience in related fields. Supported by BK21 Plus Program (supported by NRF) and Next-Generation BioGreen 21 Program (supported by RDA). Track I. Korean Research Fellowship: Up to KRW 70 million per annum per researcher, up to 5 year. This small grant should be applied to NRF by Oct 7, 2015 with invited PI agreement. Thus, applicants for Track I should be highly qualified. Researchers who have obtained their doctoral degree within the past five years. Final selection is expected in Nov, 2015.
-Personnel expenses KRW 50 million
-Living Expenses KRW 12 million(for residence, family) KRW 800,000 for single.
-Others: Up to KRW 5 million (Insurance, air fare, moving expenses)
Track II. Research Fellowship in Brain Korea 21 program: Up to KRW 30 million per annum per researcher, 2 – 4 years

Number of award(s): There are two types of fellowships: Korean Research Fellowship and Research Fellowship in Brain Korea 21 program.

Duration of award(s): Korean Research Fellowship is awarded for up to 5 year and Research Fellowship in Brain Korea 21 program is available for 2 – 4 years.

What does it cover?
Korean Research Fellowship: Up to KRW 70 million per annum per researcher.
Research Fellowship in Brain Korea 21 program: Up to KRW 30 million per annum per researcher.
