Pre Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities in India, 2021

Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme is open for meritorious students from minority communities. The scholarship will be awarded for studies in India in a government or private school from class I to class X, including such residential Government institutes and eligible private institutes.

The scholarship at the pre-matric level will encourage parents from minority communities to send their school-going children to school, lighten their financial burden on school education and sustain their efforts to support their children to complete school education.

National Scholarships Portal is the one-stop solution through which various services starting from student application, application receipt, processing, sanction and disbursal of various scholarships to Students are enabled. National Scholarships Portal is taken as Mission Mode Project under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP).

Brief Description

Course Level: Scholarships are available at the pre-matric level.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to study the subjects offered by the university.
Award: Actual financial assistance will be provided for admission/tuition fee maintenance allowance

Eligibility

  • The scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination and an annual income of their parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1 lakh.
  • Students belonging to six notified minority communities viz. Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi (Zoroastrian) studying in India, and fulfilling the Scheme guidelines are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
  • An online undertaking has to be submitted for registration on the NSP by applicants who are above the age of 18 years and by the parents/guardian if the applicant is below the age of 18 years.
  • Nationality: Students from India are eligible to apply.
  • College Admission Requirement: Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have a previous degree.

How to Apply

The Pre-Matric, Post Matric, and Merit cum Mean based Scholarship Schemes are online Schemes. In order to apply online please visit the website through URL www.scholarships.gov.in link to the site is also provided on the website of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, i.e. www.minorityaffairs.gov.in.

The list of documents to be uploaded for both Fresh & Renewal Scholarships under Merit cum Means based scholarship scheme (not for Pre-Matric and Post Matric) only, are as under:

  • Student Photo. (Mandatory)
  • Institution Verification Form. (Mandatory)
  • Income Certificate: Income Certificate issued by the Competent
  • Authority in the State/UT Government is required (Mandatory).
  • Declaration of the Student. (Mandatory)
  • Religion Certificate: Self Declaration/Certification or Self Attested
  • Community Certificate – (Mandatory).
  • Marksheet:
    (a) In the case of Fresh: Self-Attested Certificate of „Previous Qualifying Exam /Board Marksheet’ as filled in the Form. (Mandatory).
    (b) In case of Renewal: Self-Attested Certificate of Previous Year /Last exam passed Marksheet (for the same/ongoing course) as filled in the Form. (Mandatory)
  • Fee Receipt of „Current Course Year?. (Mandatory)
  • Proof of Bank Account in the name of Student. (Mandatory).
  • Aadhaar Card (Optional. However, please read Instructions on Aadhaar below at Q. No. 7).
  • Residential/Domicile Certificate (Mandatory).
