Each year, the Government of India offers Prerana Scholarship Program for ST/SCOBC/SEBC/Minority students and Backward Classes. These scholarships are awarded for pursuing Post Matriculation/Post Secondary studies. Scholarships are awarded in group 1, group 2, group 3 and group 4. Group 1: scholarships are offered for Graduate/Postgraduate level courses, CPL course and PG, Diploma courses. Group 2: scholarships are available for Graduate/Postgraduate courses leading to degree, diploma, certification. Group 3 for +3 Courses and Group 4 scholarships are awarded for+2, ITI, 3 year diploma and 2 years vocational courses. Online applications should be submitted till 20.08.2013.
Study Subject(s): Scholarships are provided for studying following courses:
Group-1: Graduate/Postgraduate level courses in Engg, Medical, Agriculture and Veterinary. CPL course, P.G, Diploma course in Management and Medicine, Courses relating to Accountancy, M.Phil, PhD and Postdoctoral programme (D.Litt, D.Sc, etc.), LL.M
Group-2: Graduate/Postgraduate courses leading to degree, diploma, certification areas like Pharmacy, Nursing, Paramedical, LLB, Mass communication, Hotel management, Interior decoration etc. PG courses- MA/MSc/M.Com/M.Ed./M. Pharma etc.
Group-3: +3 Courses
Group-4: + ITI, 3 year diploma and 2 years vocational courses.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing Post Matric studies as follows:

( votes)Eligibility: Post Matric Scholarship for ST/SC:
-The St/SC student who is continuing his/her Post Matriculation studies successfully in any General or Technical/Professional courses in any govt. institute or recognized private institute is eligible to get the scholarship.
-The annual income of the parent/guardian of the students should not exceed Rs.2, 00,000/- per annum.
Post Matric Scholarship for OBC/SEBC:
-The OBC/SEBC students whose parents/guardians income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 100,000/- per annum are eligible for Post Matric Scholarship.
-25% of the Outlay will be earmarked for Group-IV courses.
Post Matric Scholarship for Minority:
-The annual income of the parent/guardian of the students will not exceed Rs. 2, 00,000.
-30% of the scholarship are earmarked for girl students.
Scholarship Open for International Students: Indian students can apply for these scholarships.
Scholarship Description: In order to provide financial assistance to ST/SCOBC/SEBC/Minority students studying at Post Matriculation/Post Secondary stage to enable them to complete their education, Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Post-Matric Scholarships are being implemented by the Govt. in ST and SC Dev, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department as per guidelines prescribed by Govt. of India from time to time.
What does it cover? These scholarships will cover 100% course fees. Scholarship also includes reimbursement of non-refundable compulsory fee charged by educational institutions as per Govt. ceiling.
