QUEX PhD Scholarships for International Students in Australia

The University of Queensland and the University of Exeter are offering the prestigious QUEX PhD Scholarship for exceptional students to join a collaborative, cross-continental research program.   • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Meet PhD entry requirements at both UQ and Exeter

    • Not already hold a PhD

    • Be willing to undertake full-time and onshore study in Australia or the UK

    • Be selected by the QUEX selection committee.

How to Apply

  • Applications for UQ-based projects must be submitted through UQ’s application portal.

  • Before applying, ensure you:

    • Check eligibility for a PhD at UQ

    • Prepare necessary documents including a Personal Statement

    • Select and correctly enter the project title

    • Note the UQ QUEX Project Supervisor’s name

  • During application, under the Scholarships and Collaborative Study section:

    • Select ‘My higher degree is collaborative’

    • Choose ‘QUEX Institute Joint PhD’

    • Under Scholarship Funding, select ‘QUEX Institute PhD Scholarships’

    • Indicate Research Quarter 1, 2026 as your commencement date

  • Applications Open: 14 April 2025

  • Outcome Notification: By 18 July 2025
