Sir Robert Jones Scholarships in History at University of Auckland in New Zealand, 2015

University of Auckland is offering up to three history scholarships to undergraduate students of the University of Auckland who have completed at least two Stage I History courses. Scholarships will be awarded for full-time enrollment in a Bachelor of Arts (or an eligible Bachelor of Arts conjoint degree) majoring in History. Each scholarship will be for a period of up to four years and will be of the value of up to $5,000 per annum. The application deadline is 1 December 2014.

Eligibility:
-The Scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate students of the University of Auckland who have completed at least two Stage I History courses and who have paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees for full-time enrollment in a Bachelor of Arts (or an eligible Bachelor of Arts conjoint degree) majoring in History.
-The Scholarships are tenable by students who are citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Students of New Zealand can apply for these History scholarships.

Scholarship Description: The Scholarship was established in 2004 and is financed by Sir Robert Jones (the Donor). The main purpose of the Scholarship is to encourage excellence in the study of History. The Scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate students of the University of Auckland who have completed at least two semesters of Stage 1 History courses and who have paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees for full-time enrolment in a Bachelor of Arts (or an eligible Bachelor of Arts conjoint degree) majoring in History.

Number of award(s): Up to three History scholarships are offered.

Duration of award(s): These History scholarships are awarded for a period of four years. Each Scholarship will be paid in one lump sum in the second semester of each year for which the award is tenable.

What does it cover? Up to three Scholarships will be awarded per annum, each for a period of up to four years, and will be of the value of up to $5,000 per annum to students majoring in History in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Auckland.

Selection Criteria: The basis of selection will be academic merit as determined from the results of the applicant’s best two Stage I courses in the History schedule.

Notification: Applicants will be notified approximately 6 weeks after the application date by letter or email.
