The Stavros Niarchos Foundation is inviting applications for SNF Scholarship Program at the Columbia Journalism School. The scholarship program is awarded to entry-level and mid-career mass media professionals, as well as recent journalism program graduates from Greece, to attend three specialized training courses in journalism.

The Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism is the journalism school of Columbia University. It is located in Pulitzer Hall on Columbia’s Morningside Heights campus in New York City.

Scholarship Description:

Application Deadline: March 1, 2018
Course Level: Scholarships are available to participate in summer programs at the Columbia Journalism School.
Study Subject: Scholarships are offered for the following three courses by the Columbia Journalism School: A video production workshop, lasting three weeks; An investigative journalism course, lasting three weeks and A coding and data analysis course, lasting three months
Scholarship Award: The scholarship covers tuition and fees, housing, travel, transportation, and meals. Applications will be reviewed by Columbia Journalism School faculty and staff, and Columbia Journalism School will select the recipient of each scholarship.
Number of Scholarships: Through the Scholarship Program, implemented through the exclusive support of the SNF, up to 18 candidates annually, for a period of at least three years, participate in intensive summer courses, thereby strengthening their vocational training and furthering their education.

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

Eligible Countries: Applicants from Greece are eligible to apply.
Entrance Requirements:
Scholarships are open to entry-level and mid-career mass media professionals, as well as recent journalism program graduates from Greece.
English Language Requirements:
TOEFL scores are valid for two years from the test date. Waivers of this requirement are rarely given and must be requested and approved before the application deadline. The Graduate School of Journalism reference code for ETS is 2120. On the TOEFL, University require a minimum score of 650 (paper­-based) or 114 (internet-­based); and for the IELTS we require a minimum score of 8.0.
