To be eligible to apply for a UQ Sports Achievement Scholarship a student athlete must:
-Be an Australian citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or the holder of an Australian Permanent Humanitarian visa.
-Be enrolled or intend to enrol at the University in an undergraduate degree program, including a dual program in the following year or after an approved deferment of one year.
-Be enrolled as a full time Commonwealth supported student, exceptional circumstances will be considered for part-time enrolment.
-Be a member of, or intend to become a member of, an appropriate UQ sporting club and/or represent The University of Queensland at the Australian University Games or designated events/activities.
-Maintain a passing grade in all UQ courses undertaken whilst on scholarship .
-Applicants must have represented at a minimum of State or Schoolboys/Girls level in their chosen sport.
Scholarship Open for International Students: No
Scholarship Description: The UQ Sports Achievement Scholarships aim to encourage meritorious students who have a demonstrated ability in a chosen field of sport to study at The University of Queensland. These scholarships will be available to students undertaking a bachelor degree level and will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, demonstrated ability and achievements in their chosen field of sport as well as personal qualities including demonstrated leadership potential and capabilities
What it covers: The scholarship is valued at $6000 for one year plus access to additional support services.
