The GAELFAM project investigates the linguistic experiences of families residing in the Irish Gaeltacht who use a language other than or in addition to Irish or English at home. The aim is to gain insights into the linguistic dynamics within these families, particularly focusing on adolescents. The selected PhD researcher will conduct ethnographic research, including interviews and case studies, to contribute valuable findings to the field of sociolinguistics.
