The Laboratory of molecular biotechnology of the University of Lausanne has an opening for a Postdoctoral position at the Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), in the Center for Biotechnology.
The laboratory focuses on gene regulation and expression from fundamental and applied perspectives (http://www.unil.ch/biotech). The successful applicant will work on a cell therapy project supported by the Swiss Foundation for Research on Muscular Dystrophies. This project will focus on the isolation and characterization of human adult stem cells, and on the stable expression of therapeutic transgenes in these cells, as a first step towards potential therapeutic applications (e.g. Pankiewicz R. et al., 2005, J. Gene. Med. 7, 117-132; Girod, P-A et al., 2007, Nature Methods 4, 747-753).
