University of Idaho Graduate Student Research Assistantship

Nanomaterials for Basic and Applied Cell BiologyGraduate student research assistantships in PhD programs are immediately available at the University of Idaho. Programs will contribute to an interdisciplinary initiative studying one of the following three themes: 1. Nanomaterials for investigation and treatment of intracellular infectious disease agents, 2. Bio-nanostructures to study gene regulation, 3. Development of a reusable nanoarray for genomic screening present position is offered for Theme 2. Bio-nanostructures to study gene regulation in the laboratory of the molecular physiologist, Dr Rod HillStudents will interact with an interdisciplinary team of researchers with expertise in nanomaterials, conjugation chemistry, molecular physiology, molecular biology, cell biology, host-pathogen interactions and biochemistry.

The project is highly collaborative with a multidisciplinary group of co-investigators at the University of Idaho, Moscow campus. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to receive training in a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment with excellent resources highly competitive stipends will be awarded. Students with interests and expertise in nanomaterials, conjugation chemistry, molecular physiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline are encouraged to apply. The training emphasis will develop graduates with skills across disciplines. Positions will remain open until a suitable candidate have been identified.
