The new University of Otago New Frontiers Entrance award is now available for all students entering in an undergraduate programme. This scholarship is available to New Zealand citizens or permanent residents and also available for International students.
The University of Otago is a collegiate university located in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand. It scores highly for average research quality, and in 2006 was second in New Zealand only to the University of Auckland in the number of A-rated academic researchers it employs.

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Application for all Entrance Scholarships is normally open to students who meet the requirements of 1.1 OR 1.2, and 1.3. Those who fit within 1.4 are ineligible.
1.1 Are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents. International students who have completed an internationally recognised qualification at an overseas high school, such as A Levels, International Baccalaureate, or ATAR, and have achieved excellent grades may be invited to apply.
1.2 Who have completed Year 12 and have completed or are in the process of completing Year 13 at a New Zealand school (or for International students an equivalent foundation level course at a New Zealand tertiary institution).
1.3 Are intending to enroll or have enrolled for the first time for full-time degree-level, undergraduate study at the University of Otago.
1.4 Those who have studied more than 0.4 EFTs at any University or tertiary institution at degree-level or higher are not normally eligible.
Specific eligibility criteria for this Scholarship
In addition to the above eligibility criteria, those intending to commence study in programmes such as Health Sciences First Year or the intermediate year of professional degrees not offered at the University of Otago (e.g. Engineering) are not eligible for this application .
English Language Requirements: An IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent (if English is not your first language).
