The University of Auckland is offering PhD engineering scholarship to support for Vietnamese. The intention of The grant is to encourage and support academically excellent students to undertake a full-time doctoral study on an agreed topic in the Faculty of Engineering.
The Scholarship’s continuation for a second and subsequent year will be subject to the Scholarship recipient maintaining satisfactory academic progress. The basis of selection will be academic achievement, financial need and suitability of the proposed study in New Zealand.

The Scholarship may be held concurrently with any other award or grant as long as a) the terms of that award or grant permit and b) the University of Auckland Council is informed and approves.

The Van-Thanh Nguyen PhD Engineering Scholarship was established in 2009 by Van-Thanh Nguyen, a former Colombo Plan student at the Faculty of Engineering. The purpose of The grant is to assist citizens of Vietnam, who are living in Vietnam at the time of application, to study postgraduate Engineering at the University of Auckland.

- Value: Up to $16,000 pa
- A number of awards: one PhD Engineering support will be offered.
- Duration of awards: award is offered for up to four years. The Scholarship’s continuation for a second and subsequent year will be subject to the Scholarship recipient maintaining satisfactory academic progress.
