Students in the programme are part of a strong, supportive community made up of fellow students and the post-docs, staff scientists, and group leaders that make up the campus. VBC PhD students receive attentive scientific guidance from their advisors and all members of the community. From the practical side, the programme assists students with administrative issues related to obtaining their degrees through the University of Vienna.

The VBC PhD programme offers a presentation skills course for beginning PhD students aimed at organizing and delivering a scientific talk. Everything necessary to give a great talk is covered, from developing enthusiasm for your subject to the finesse of designing readable slides.
etting into the VBC PhD programme requires three things: a written application, a personal interview, and a PhD position offer from a VBC group leader.
