Situated in Johannesburg in the commercial heart of South Africa and the continent, the Oliver Schreiner School of Law is one of Africa’s top law schools, and its graduates are among the leading lights in the legal fraternity.

Course Level: award is available to pursue PhD programme.

Study Subject: award is awarded on a range of topics in international law, society and development such as: Critical, development-oriented aspects of trade and investment Socio-economic deprivation Human rights and humanitarian law Gender Health and the environment.

Award: Applicants who are successfully admitted to the programme will be waived of tuition fees from both ISS and Wits.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the opportunity :

  • Applicants must be at entry-level for a PhD with an average of at least 70% in a Master’s degree within a relevant area.

  • Curriculum Vitae.
