The Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication Scholarship
MBRSC is the first academic institution in the region to offer world-class and specialized undergraduate courses in various communication fields including Journalism and Digital Production and Storytelling. A Scholarship entitles the recipient to a waiver of tuition for one academic year (two semesters/30 credit hours) until graduation. High school applicants should have at least a 90% grade average (or equivalent). Applicants must submit a portfolio consisting of samples of their literary/artistic work, along with two qualifying essays in Arabic. The deadline to apply is 25th June every year.
DUBAL Dubai Aluminum Scholarships
DUBAL provides scholarships to eligible students, enabling them to pursue higher education at university level (with preference being given to UAE Nationals). Applicants must have an aggregate score of at least 85 per cent in high school academic evaluations. The adjudication panel meets in July and November each year. DUBAL will advise applicants of the outcome of their applications thereafter.
Management School Master and MBA Scholarships
The Management School is pleased to offer a range of Masters and MBA scholarships to students from the UAE. These scholarships are available for those students who show exceptional academic potential and are starting their studies at the University of Sheffield in September 2014. There are three Middle East Merit Scholarships for UAE students starting their undergraduate degree studies in September 2014. The scholarship is worth £7,000 for each year of study for all undergraduate programmes. The Middle East Merit Undergraduate Scholarships 2014 are awarded on the basis of academic merit. Arturo Falaschi ICGEB Postdoctoral Fellowships
Fellowships are awarded for postdoctoral research programme at the ICGEB laboratories located in Trieste and Monterotondo (Italy), New Delhi (India) and Cape Town (South Africa). Applicants should be holders of a recent Ph.D. or have at least 3 year’s research experience. Preference will be given to candidates below the age of 35. Applications will close on 31st March 2014.
Marshal Papworth Scholarships for UAE Students
Marshal Papworth Trust is offering scholarships for UAE students. MSc & MA scholarships vary in value from £14,500 to £21,500 depending on location and chosen university/College. The scholarships are designed to fund the majority of tuition fees, living expenses and travel costs. Applications will close on 24th March 2014.
University of Groningen Talent Grant
Grant is awarded to students who have been admitted to one of the Faculty of Arts Research Master’s Programmes. Grant is provided in the field of Art History and Archaeology, Classical Medieval and Renaissance Studies and Literary and Cultural Studies. The grant is usually awarded for a maximum of 2 years for a Master’s degree programme. Application should be submitted till 1st March, 2014.
Georg Forster Research Fellowship (HERMES)
The Humboldt Foundation grants up to 80 Georg Forster Research Fellowships for postdoctoral researchers. Fellowships are available for periods of 6-24 months. The fellowship amount per month is 2.650 €. This includes a mobility allowance and a contribution towards health and liability insurance. Applications are accepted from 01.07.2013 until mid 2015.
CAS-TWAS President’s Postgraduate Fellowship
Applications are invited for CAS-TWAS President’s Postgraduate Fellowship Programme from the citizens of developing countries other than China. These postgraduate fellowships are awarded up to 140 students per year for PhD study and research. Applicants must be maximum age of 35 years on 31 December 2014. TWAS Prizes for Developing Countries’ Scientists
The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) is awarding eight prizes of USD 15,000 each to individual scientists. Selection of the awardees is made on scientific merit and on the recommendations of the selection committees composed of TWAS members. Nominations of women scientists are particularly encouraged.
