Global and national universities offer agriculture scholarships to facilitate students in acquiring their degrees at least possible funding. Agriculture is the art and production of cultivating soil, raising the domestic animals that will be helpful as livestock and for producing crops. Agriculture sector is also known as farming or husbandry.
Agriculture sector offers numerous career prospects like Agricultural Research, Agri – Business, Farming, Conservation, Agricultural Engineering, Poultry farming, Plant Pathology, Aquaculture, Environmental Engineering, Food and dairy Technology etc. Many agriculture scholarships are available for both international and local students to attain their agricultural academic degrees. Below are the scholarships for students who wish to pursue their career in agriculture.

Agris Mundus Masters Scholarships
Agriculture scholarships are offered for pursuing Master degree at partner universities of Europe. Scholarship includes contribution to travel, installation and any other type of costs, contribution to the Agris mundus fees and Monthly allowance. Scholarship is open for EU, EEA, EFTA and third world countries. Online application must be submitted by February 6, 2014.

Cargill Global Scholars Program
Cargill Global Scholars are high performing first or second year university students. The scholarship will be awarded to study in a field relevant to Cargill’s world of food, agriculture and risk management. Scholarship will be offered for up to three years. The Cargill Global Scholars Program includes the following countries: Brazil, China, India, Russia and the United States. Application should be submitted till March 1, 2014.

Republic of Austria Scholarships 
Agriculture scholarships are available for pursuing master, diploma or doctoral programme at an Austrian university. Scholarships are offered for maximum 4 months. Applicants without a doctoral degree have to attach a letter of confirmation of their home university/faculty regarding their course. Application should be submitted till March 1, 2014.

AIC Foundation Agriculture Scholarships
Agricultural Institute of Canada Foundation is offering agriculture scholarships for graduate students in Canada. Candidates must be enrolled in their graduate program until at least one semester beyond the application deadline. Two scholarships amount $5,000 each will be offered. The application deadline is January 17, 2014.

Lord Walston Agriculture Scholarship
Agriculture scholarship is available for African applicants who are working in natural resource based projects. The scholarship covers full fees and maintenance (living expenses). The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence. The application deadline is 16th March 2014.

Henry Bertie and Florence Mabel Gritton Research Scholarships
Agriculture scholarships are for pursuing postgraduate research at the University of Sydney in Australia. The scholarship is valued at the same rate as the Australian Postgraduate Award ($24,653 in 2013). The Scholarship is open to graduates of universities who are members of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, graduates of any country who are citizens of a Commonwealth country or Australian permanent residents. The deadline for applications is 20th January 2014.

Newcastle University Ghana Scholarships
Agriculture scholarships are available for pursuing postgraduate taught degree or research programmes at Newcastle University in UK. Candidates must have an upper-second-class honours degree or higher from a recognised Ghanaian university and satisfy all other requirements. The application deadline is 30 June 2014.

Newcastle University India Scholarships
Newcastle University is funding agriculture scholarships for postgraduate students in UK. Eight scholarships worth of £3,000 each will be payable in the first year of tuition fees. Agriculture scholarships will be offered for one year. Candidates must hold a conditional or unconditional offer of a place at Newcastle University. 30th June 2014 is the application deadline.

Hungarian Ministry of Rural Development Fellowship Programme
The fellowships are available for pursuing master (MSc) degree in the field of Agricultural Sciences, Horticulture and Rural development and agribusiness. These will cover tuition, books and subsistence costs for the entire duration of the course. The awarded students however will be responsible for financing their travel to and from Hungary. Applications will close on 28th February 2014.

Newcastle University Overseas Research Scholarships
Newcastle University is offering agriculture scholarships for Brazilian students to pursue a PhD research programme. Three scholarships will be offered for the duration of course. Candidates should be Brazilian national, have been assessed as international/overseas for fees purposes, and are wholly or partially self-financing. The application deadline is 25th April 2014.

Guest Scholarship Programme
Agriculture scholarship is for pursuing postdoctoral research at Swedish universities and research institutes. Applicants have already lived in Sweden for two or more years when the scholarship period is due to begin. The scholarships will be granted for long-term visits during the academic year 2014/ 2015. Online application deadline is 15 January 2014.

Newcastle University Agriculture Scholarships
The International Office of Newcastle University is announcing agriculture scholarships for postgraduate students in UK. Scholarship covers £3,500, payable towards the first year of tuition fees. Applicants should have a upper-second-class degree or higher from a recognized Kenyan university and satisfy all other requirements. Application deadline is 30th June 2014.

Kader Asmal Fellowship Programme 
Agriculture scholarships are available for pursuing masters or postgraduate diploma programme. Candidates must be in possession of a good first degree (minimum second class, upper division or equivalent) or about to graduate in the year of application. Eight annual awards will be offered. Online application deadline is 17th February 2014.
