It was the first British university to establish a Department of Peace Studies in 1973, which is currently the world’s largest university centre for the study of peace and conflict.

Eligibility

The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • The successful candidate will have a first-class degree in a relevant topic (such as Engineering, Controls, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or Statistics or similar) and will demonstrate knowledge and interest in the application of Big Data Science, Data Analytics, Machine Learning to engineering data resources and cyber-physical systems applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, problem-solving, multi-disciplinary project experience and programming skills are desirable.

  • Entrance Requirements: Candidates must have a first-class degree in a relevant topic.
  • English language Requirements: The standard University requirement is 6.0* with no sub-test less than 5.0 (or equivalent) on the IELTS or on the university’s own entry test the BASALT. However, if you require a Tier 4 (student) visa to study you will need to meet the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) department’s requirement which is currently IELTS 6.0 with no sub-test less than 5.5. Conditional offers to international students will be made on this basis.
