Adult Education, Inclusion and Social Change Scholarships in Ireland

The Department of Adult and Continuing Education is happy to introduce the Adult Education, Inclusion and Social Change Scholarship, aimed at supporting candidates pursuing the one-year M.Ed in Adult and Community Education at Maynooth University. This scholarship program offers five partial scholarships, each valued at €3,700, for students commencing their studies in September 2024.

They are offering five partial scholarships worth €3,700 to those beginning the one-year MEd in Adult and Community Education (PAC Code: MHA92) in September 2024. Both Maynooth and non-Maynooth University graduates are eligible to apply.

Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from all countries
Acceptable Course or Subjects: Any subject offered by Maynooth University
Admissible Criteria: To be considered eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must satisfy the entry requirements of the M.Ed in Adult Education program.
  • A minimum 2.1 overall result in their honours undergraduate degree (level 8 or equivalent) is required for consideration.
  • Applicants must apply for both the scholarship and the M.Ed in Adult Education Programme via the online portal PAC. A scholarship application without the program application will not be considered.
  • All required documents must be uploaded as part of the M.Ed PAC online application process by the scholarship application deadline.
  • Graduates from Maynooth University and other institutions are eligible to apply.
  • The scholarship cannot be deferred.
  • Successful applicants must demonstrate practitioner experience within Adult, Further, and/or Higher Education, propose a thesis topic related to adult education, inclusion, and social change, and commit to disseminating their thesis findings to academic and community audiences.

How to Apply

Interested applicants should submit a personal statement demonstrating their suitability and motivation for the program and scholarship alongside their M.Ed application. Additionally, the statement should be emailed to Dr. Angela McGinn and Dr. Michael Murray, with a copy to Rose Gallagher for further information.
