The Department of Archaeology at Flinders University is one of Australia’s leading centres for field-based archaeological research and practical cultural heritage management training. Our courses are taught by an expanding, dedicated group of internationally renowned staff with a wide range of specialist skills across many fields.

Flinders is a member of the Innovative Research University Australia group, and is located in the cosmopolitan coastal city of Adelaide, South Australia. The combination of flexible topic choice with internship, practicum and individual research project opportunities provides our graduate students with a firm grounding in research methods and concepts, as well as teaching transferable skills suited to a wide range of career paths.
