MOLECULAR VIROLOGY RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION OXFORD UNIVERSITY

A research assistant is required to join Professor Adrian Hill’s vaccine development group at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, part of the Jenner Institute. The research programme, funded by the Wellcome Trust, focuses on the clinical development of novel vaccines against malaria, tuberculosis and influenza. The post-holder will work with both the pre-clinical and the clinical teams and will be responsible for the molecular characterization and quality control of viral-vectored vaccines.

Eligibility

Previous laboratory experience, good written and oral communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. Experience of working to GLP is desirable. The work involves quality control assays using DNA preparation, standard and quantitative PCR, virus titration and cellular immunology techniques including ELISPOT.
