High calibre PhD students that aspire to conduct research in diverse disciplines that address some of the most important problems facing society today are invited by the University of Sydney to participate in its Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Postgraduate Research Scholarship for the academic year 2022-2023.

The scholarship application can be made by all interested domestic and international students who have to undertake a PhD degree study at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney in an eligible field of research. The applicants must have an honours or master’s degree in a relevant field of study to be considered for this scholarship award comprised an annual stipend worth $35,950 and tuition fee coverage for up to 3.5 years of study.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: All Australian and foreign students are eligible to apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD programme of choice taught at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney can be applied for.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must be a PhD students in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
  • The applicants must hold honours or Master’s degrees or have sufficient professional experience.
  • The applicants must undertake research in Equity and Inclusion in the Metaverse, Understanding Early Medieval Friendship, Computational Social Science Lab, Spillover Effects of Single-use Plastic Regulations on Consumer Behaviour, Understanding spatial inequalities: mechanisms and implications, Economics of firming electricity supply in the age of renewable, Modern Sinophone Australia, The Poetics of Social Change in Late Antiquity (250-750 AD), Mathematics Education & Engagement, Community Languages education in a globalised world, Informal Care in the Context of Intellectual Disability, Micro-biopolitics and the deep relationality of (self)care, or Seventies Sydney & the Queer Creative Economy.

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: Applicants must first apply for admission via the official online portal of the university. Domestic and international students must submit separate scholarship application forms if interested to apply.

  • Single Overseas Health Cover (OSHC) for up to 55 months (international students only)
