Father Guindon Student Assistance Fund at University of Ottawa in Canada

To help students overcome their financial struggles by supporting their higher education, the University of Ottawa has set up the Father Guindon Student Assistance Fund. Students can apply to receive support for the academic year 2023-2024. 

The fund will exclusively extend support to students who have overcome or are dealing with any significant and long-term life challenges. Canadian and foreign national students enrolled and admitted in an undergraduate-level degree program full-time at the University of Ottawa are ideal candidates. Selected students can expect a whopping amount of up to $20,000.

  • Eligible Countries: Canadian nationals and international students can apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Undergraduate-level degree programmes taught at the University of Ottawa can be applied for.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must be enrolled full-time for the first time in a university undergraduate program. 
  • The applicants must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or have protected person or refugee status (unless otherwise indicated). 

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: Admission applications must be directed to the OUAC portal. All eligible candidates will be considered automatically. 
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present high school transcripts. 
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must meet the admission requirements of the university for the program in question.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • IELTS – 6.5 
  • TOEFL IBT – 86

  • CAE – C1

The winning undergraduate students will be awarded a maximum sum of $20,000 from the Father Guindon Student Assistance Fund by the University of Ottawa.
