Scholarship Description: 

  • Applications Deadline: February 15, 2018
  • Course Level: Fellowships are available to pursue postdoctoral programme.
  • Study Subject: Fellows will work with an active academic community of postdoctoral and predoctoral fellows, as well as Yale faculty in history, political science, and other disciplines.
  • Scholarship Award: The salary is $55,000 plus $5,000 for research expenses.
  • Nationality: Scholars from all around the world are eligible to apply for this fellowship.
  • Number of Scholarships: Up to three positions are available.

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have recent PhD in the relevant field. PhD must be in hand by September 1, 2018. Postdoctoral fellows must have completed their PhD degree to begin the fellowship. They are expected to use their time at Yale to conduct original research and prepare manuscripts for publication. Fellows will work with an active academic community of postdoctoral and predoctoral fellows, as well as Yale faculty in history, political science, and other disciplines. Postdoctoral fellows may teach small seminars if desired.

English Language Requirements: All J-1 Exchange Visitors are required by the Department of State to have sufficient proficiency in the English language to successfully to participate in their academic program and to function on a day-to-day basis in the United States. Applicants must meet the all the criteria for the English Language.

  • A 100-word research proposal abstract.
  • A 1000-word research proposal.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • Two writing samples, e.g. dissertation chapters or journal articles.
