Eligibility

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for PhD research in social, economic and environmental issues in coastal NSW and Queensland at the School of Geosciences, Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Must have applied for RTP (Research Training Program).
  • Must be a domestic or international PhD student within the School of Geosciences at the University of Sydney
  • Must have an unconditional offer of admission or currently enrolled in the PhD program
  • Must conduct research on the interaction of social, economic, and environmental issues in coastal NSW and Queensland, with a focus on high-value horticultural production expansion
  • Must hold at least an Honors degree (First Class or Second Class Upper) or Master’s degree with a substantial research component in relevant disciplinary areas
  • Must be willing and able to conduct field-based research in the North Coast of NSW or coastal Queensland.

  • Personal statement (maximum two pages) demonstrating previous research experience, written outputs, and interest in undertaking a PhD specifically with this opportunity

  • Admission Requirements: The students are required to present the admission requirements:
  • A Bachelors degree with first or upper second class Honors’
  • A Masters degree performed at a high academic standard, and which includes a substantial component of original research
