The John Holloway Undergraduate Scholarship was established in honor of Emeritus Professor John Holloway. Dr. Holloway came to ASU to combine the research fields of chemistry and geology. He quickly built an innovative and highly productive experimental program in high-pressure research and became a world-renowned experimental petrologist.
His Depths of the Earth (DotE) laboratory served as a nexus for students of all levels, researchers, and visitors from around the world. The John Holloway Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded once annually to a student pursuing a degree in the School of Molecular Sciences. Preference will be given to those students evidencing aptitude to make significant contributions to a science or technology career. This scholarship provides an excellent opportunity for students interested in making a difference in their field.
Preference will be given to students making reasonable progress toward a degree in the School of Molecular Sciences as evidenced by a letter of recommendation from a faculty or academic adviser and the potential to make significant contributions to science and technology. If top applicants are of equal merit, unmet financial needs will be considered.
