The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is a world-class centre for its concentration of teaching and research across the full range of the social, political and economic sciences.

If English is not the first language a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent is required with all elements passed at 6.0 or above. Applicants who have previously successfully completed programmes delivered in English will be exempt from the above requirement subject to submission of documentation.

Course Level: Fellowship is available to pursue Postdoctoral programme.

Study Subject: Fellowship is awarded on Quality and Economics.

Scholarship Award: The Fellow will receive a monthly subsistence allowance of up to £1,750 a month, and will be provided with shared workspace and access to research facilities at the School. Assistance will also be provided towards the cost of travel and related expenses. No additional grant is available for fieldwork or any other costs.

Scholarship can be taken in at the LSE India Observatory

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship.

Applicants should have been awarded their PhD – the fellowship is not intended for students registered for a degree or diploma, nor is it intended for senior academics.

Applicants should be early career researchers working on the impact of people quality and behaviour on economies. The main objective of this programme is to examine the links between quality and economics.

The Fellowship allows for any scholar to participate in the programme regardless of ethnicity or national origin.

Nationality: Indian students are eligible to apply for this fellowship.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have their previous degree.

A minimum of one year of full-time study, employment or equivalent is required.

Applications should include:

  • a cover letter of no more than one page
  • curriculum vitae of no more than three pages
  • an outline of proposed research of no more than three pages
  • the names and addresses of two referees, familiar with their work, to be contacted by the Committee

Application Deadline: The final date for receipt of applications is Monday, April 29, 2019. Late applications will not be accepted. The successful candidate will be informed of the decision by the end of July 2019.
