MOFCOM Scholarship for International Students in China, 2017-2018

Ministry of Commerce of People’s Republic of China is inviting applications for MOFCOM Scholarship from international students. Scholarship is available for pursuing postgraduate degree program and PhD degree programs.

MOFCOM Scholarship established by Ministry of Commerce of People’s Republic of China to encourage students from any nationality to study in China.

The objective of the CSC is to provide, financial assistance to the Chinese citizens wishing to study abroad and to the foreign citizens wishing to study in China in order to develop the educational, scientific and technological, and cultural exchanges and economic and trade cooperation between China and other countries.

Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health. They should meet the language requirements of the higher education institutions. General English language requirements for English-instructed programs and Chinese-instructed programs are different.

Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing postgraduate degree program and PhD degree programs.

Study Subject(s): Scholarships are offered in diverse fields to help students in upgrading their education.

Scholarship Award: Scholarship includes:

-Tuition waiver;

-Teaching material fee waiver;

-Research and survey fee waiver;

-Dissertation guidance fee waiver;

-One-off resettlement fee:

3000RMB per master student,

3000RMB per PhD student;

-on-campus accommodation;

-stipend:

3000RMB per month per master student,

3500RMB per month per PhD student;

-medical insurance

-one-time round-trip international airfare for all the students (First time fly to China after enrollment, and Fly back to home country while graduation) and a maximum of “n-1” ?“n” is for the length of schooling year which is set while the student was enrolled by the program) round-trip international airfares for home visits ?one time per year set at the end of an academic year).

Scholarship can be taken in China

Eligibility: To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health;
  • Be a bachelor’s degree holder when applying for master’s program;
  • Be a master’s degree holder when applying for doctoral program;
  • Be under the age of 45 when applying;
  • Have sufficient English or Chinese proficiency which meets the academic requirements of the program. English: IETS 6.0 or above, Chinese: HSK level 4 ?score180? or above, or other evidence which indicates your English or Chinese proficiency is adequate.

Scholarship Open for International Students: International students (other than the People’s Republic of China) can apply for these scholarships.

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health.

Test Requirement: Not Required

English Language Requirements: General Chinese Language requirements for application to Chinese-instructed program

  • Old HSK6 (or new HSK5)or above is required for application of liberal arts, economics and management majored students.
  • Old HSK3 (or new HSK4) or above is required for application of science, engineering and medical science majored students.

General English language requirements for application to English-instructed programs:

  • Free English Language testing for students from English speaking countries.
  • Free English Language testing for students from countries in which English is the major teaching language on condition that the relevant proof documents were provided.
  • TOEFL 550, IELTS 5.5 or Pass university’s entrance examination.

China scholarship

How to Apply: The mode of applying is online.

Application documents:

  • Photocopy of highest diploma;
  • Photocopy of academic transcripts;
  • A Study Plan or Research Proposal with a minimum of 400 words;
  • Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form;
  • Photocopy of English or Chinese proficiency;
  • Photocopy of a valid passport.

Application Deadline: The application deadline is April 30, 2017.
