Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing full-time MPhil/PhD programme within the School of Social Sciences, History and Philosophy.

Study Subject: Applications are particularly encouraged in relation to the following thematic and disciplinary areas: History, Classics and Archaeology, Philosophy, Politics, Sociology, Communicating Cultures, Gender Studies, Super-Diversity and Zones of Conflict and Contestation.

Number of Awards: Up to six fully funded Postgraduate Research Scholarships in 2018.

Scholarship Award: The scholarship awards will include a fee waiver up to the value of the full-time home/EU rate for MPhil/PhD degrees (£4195 in 2017/8), in addition to an annual stipend set at Research Council rates (£16,553 in 2017/8, including London Weighting); pro rata in the case of a part-time award.

Eligibility: This competition is primarily open to new Home/EU and International students who are applying for a full-time MPhil/PhD place within the School of Social Sciences, History and Philosophy. Applications for part-time study will also be considered, at an appropriate pro-rata rate and extended duration.

Nationality: Home/EU and international students are eligible to apply.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirement: Candidates will normally possess at least an upper second class undergraduate honours degree or equivalent, and a Masters Degree or equivalent.

English Language Requirement: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.
