A PhD studentship is available in the laboratory of Dr. Suresh Mishra to investigate the mechanisms involved in the relationship between prohibitin and sex steroid hormones in adipose tissue homeostasis and metabolic regulation in the body.

The project is focused on both experiments with transgenic mouse models and in vitro cell culture models. For further information on this research topic please see our publications: Diabetes 2014; Oncogene 2016; Scientific Reports 2016; and Trends in Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2016.

Preference will be given to recently graduated Masters’ student with background in physiology and biochemistry, or endocrinology. Successful candidates are expected to be experienced in basic biochemistry and molecular biology techniques. A prior experience working with rodent models is an asset.
