RTC-YDF Need-Based Scholarship in Bhutan

Application for RTC-YDF Need-Based Scholarship 2023 is now open. The Royal Thimphu College (RTC) and the Bhutan Youth Development Fund (YDF) are jointly offering one full scholarship under the RTC-YDF Need-Based Scholarship Program.

The award is open for domestic students who are 22 years old or younger at the time of application and have a minimum of 50% aggregate in English + best 3 subjects. The vision of the award is to encourage and enable capable youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to continue their academic pursuit.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Bhutan
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for a three/to a four-year degree program in any subject offered by the RTC.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Candidates with a minimum of 50% aggregate in English + the best 3 subjects can apply for this scholarship.
  • Applicants must be 22 years or younger
  • Applicants must check the program-wise eligibility criteria

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: Applicants must register online for admission and then fill in the RTC-YDF Scholarship Application Form online.
  • Financial Need Evidence Form
  • RTC- YDF Scholarship Guidelines/Agreement
  • Supporting Documents: Documents to be submitted with the RTC-YDF Scholarship Form:
  • Copy of Academic transcripts (Class X and XII).
  • Copy of CID/Route Permit.
  • Copy of Family Tree.
  • Copy of both parents’ PIT statements for the previous year, if applicable.
  • Two letters of recommendation (Should not be from family members).
  • Tax returns, assets, liabilities, information of siblings, and/or other relevant documentation.
  • Letter of verification from Gup or Thromde authority regarding family details and parents’ income.
  • Filled in Need-Based Scholarship Financial Need Evidence Form.
  • Admission Requirements: The recipient is required to commence full-time study in the specific program as per the admission offer letter from RTC.
  • Applicants may check admission criteria before starting an application.
  • Language Requirement: English language skills are required.

Benefits

The ‘RTC-YDF Need-Based Scholarship Program’ will cover the following:

  • Tuition fee for three/four years depending on the duration of the program.
  • Meals and accommodation for three/four years depending on the duration of the program.
  • Normal medical facilities available at RTC are admissible to all students.
