Colleges and Schools of Syracuse University

The University shelters 14 Schools under various departments. These are the most sorted after schools. (a) School of Architecture:Offers bachelor’s and master’s degree in architecture accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) (b) College of Arts and Science:With 23 departments ranging from African American Studies to International Relations, this institute offers both graduate and undergraduate degrees in Sciences and Arts. (c) Syracuse University College of Engineering and Computer Science College of Law:The college offers graduate degrees M.E,  M.S and Ph.D degrees in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer science, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace and Environmental engineering. (d) College of Law: Offers LL.M in Law. Provides extensive internship opportunities to students at state courts and other judiciary firms. Cost of attendance at SU University

Scholarships at Syracuse University

(a) For International students, both for graduate and undergraduate level, scholarships are available on merit basis. A number of them are there, like the Truman, Fulbright, Luce, Rhodes and others. The Centre for Fellowship and Scholarship Advising helps students with the entire process of application for scholarships, getting your recommendation letters, and other necessary stuff needed to arm you for the scholarship competition. Few notable scholarships are: -World Trade Centre Matching Grant: Students winning this scholarship shall get full tuition fee waiver by the University. -Say Yes to Education: It works to encourage college education. It includes tuition fee, books and other expenses. -Academic Merit Scholarships: Pays up to $12,000 these are awarded to eligible students, deciding factor being candidate’s portfolio, academic credentials, performance at tests and others during admission application.

Internship Opportunities

SU’s Career Services office in Schine Student Centre guides students, both graduate and undergraduate to find and arrange local and national internships. Internships can be done during the fall, spring semesters or during the semester breaks. Students can develop internships themselves; of course that needs the faculty counsellor’s approval.

Career Guidance

Career Fairs crowded by 100s of employers are organised every semester to hire students for internships and full-time postings. SU features the CuseConnect; a LinkedIn group which connects students to alumni in their fields of interest.

Student Employment

The Federal Work Study (FWS) scheme is awarded to students and they can have a part time on-off campus job and get wages accordingly.

Admissions Requirements

(a) Application deadline: 1st Jan -Fall session , 15th Nov – Spring session So be careful about the deadlines, also acceptance of application is 51.3%, hence plan your application beforehand. (b) Application checklist -Official academic requirements -Two academic Requirements –TOEFL or IELTS required -SAT/ACT optional, however do provide SAT scores if available. -Review student visas and immigration. (c) Look forward to the Applying to College Knowledge Centre for more help with admission process, interview tips and other issues.
