Taiwan Ministry of Education Africa Elite Scholarships in Taiwan

Taiwan Ministry of Education (MOE) is pleased to announce the commencement of its Africa Elite Scholarships programme 2022. The Taiwan MOE has established this scholarship programme to help Africa cultivate high-level professionals and to raise the scope of academic exchange.

The  Ministry of Education of Taiwan will award 20 scholarships to students from African countries interested in pursuing master’s or doctoral studies in Taiwan in September 2022. The students are required to be African lecturers and apply to an eligible participating Taiwanese university to be eligible to apply for this scholarship and secure funding worth NT$25,000 for their study costs.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Students from Africa are eligible to apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: A master’s or PhD degree in nursing can be undertaken at any participating university.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must be employed as lecturers in public or private universities or colleges in African countries.
  • The applicants must have applied to any of the participating universities – Tamkang University, Yuan Ze University, National Taiwan Ocean University, National Dong Huwa University, National Tsing Hua University, National Yang-Ming Chao Tung University, National Taipei University of Technology, Taipei Medical University, National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences, Tung Hai University, National ChengChih University, Kaohsiung Medical University, and National Cheng Kung University.

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: Students must apply for admission via the selected university’s application portal. Scholarship application forms for universities are available here.
  • Supporting Documents: The students must provide academic transcripts, CV, motivation letter, etc., as required by their respective universities.
  • Admission Requirements: The students are required to hold relevant academic qualifications and meet the entry requirements of the applied university.
  • Language Requirement: The students must meet the language requirement of their selected universities. TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, PTE, etc., are widely accepted.

Benefits

The students selected will be provided a monthly allowance of NT$25,000 (R13, 247.09), covering tuition and miscellaneous expenses such as insurance, Internet fee, and dorm accommodation.
