The Lester B. Pearson International Student Scholarships

Intended to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and creativity, the University of Toronto has established the prestigious Lester B. Pearson International Student Scholarships for the academic year 2022-2023.

This scholarship offered by the University of Toronto, exclusively to international students who apply to undertake an undergraduate study program, will cover the costs for tuition, books, incidental fees, and residence of the selected students. The scholarship is tenable only for first-entry undergraduate programs and will be awarded to approximately 37 students who will then be named Lester B. Pearson Scholars.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: All foreign national students can apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Undergraduate programs offered at the University of Toronto can be applied.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must be an international student (i.e., a non-Canadian requiring a study permit).
  • The applicants must currently be in their final year of secondary school or have graduated no earlier than June 2022.
  • The applicants must begin their studies at the University of Toronto in September 2023.
  • The applicants must be nominated by their school and apply to undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto.
  • The applicants must apply for first-entry undergraduate programs at the University of Toronto.

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: The applicants must log into the university’s online undergraduate application portal online undergraduate application portal online. All applicants that receive a nomination from their schools will be sent a personalized, secure link to the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship application.
  • Supporting Documents: The students must submit full documentation (transcripts) for all attempted secondary and post-secondary studies. Online ‘self-reported grades’ forms, proof of English language proficiency, standardized test results, or other supplemental information may also be asked to submit.
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must meet the university’s admission application requirements.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores on the following English language proficiency tests:
  • C1/C2 – 180
  • CAEL – 70
  • CanTEST – 4.5
  • Duolingo – 120
  • IELTS – 6.5
  • TOEFL IBT – 100
  • Caribbean Examinations Council English courses – A or B
  • English Language Diagnosis and Assessment/Certificate of Proficiency in English (ELDA/COPE) – 86
  • GCSE/IGCSE/GCE/AICE English courses – Grade B

The University of Toronto will provide the selected candidates with a scholarship award covering tuition, books, incidental fees, and full residence support for four years of study.
