This section offers current information on all available postdoctoral positions. Postdoctoral research is an academic research conducted by a researcher who has just completed PhD studies normally in the first five years. Postdoctoral fellows can regain some of the suitable resources in their interest areas and will help them in building associative relations with various universities and organizations. Applicants related to such results are known as Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Postdoctoral Research Associate or Postdoctoral Research Assistant. There are various scholarships and fellowships available for international students, developing countries’ students and for domestic students to achieve these postdoctoral positions. Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowships
Scholarship Provider: The Irish Research Council
Eligible Students: Must have been awarded their doctoral degree within the five-year period before the 28th February 2015. For the purposes of this condition, the date of graduation will be taken into account
Course: Fellowships are available for pursuing postdoctoral research programme.
Award Details: The total value of the Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship will be up to a maximum of €45,895 in any approved year.

DAAD Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience (P.R.I.M.E.)
Scholarship Provider: The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers a new funding programme – co-financed by the Marie Curie Programme of the European Commission.
Eligible Students: Applications may be submitted before completion of the PhD. The PhD must, however, be completed before the start of the funding period.
Course: Funding is available for postdoctoral researchers.
Award Details: The funding is made up of a lump sum travel allowance for the selected candidate and accompanying spouse or partner within the meaning of the law on civil partnerships and children in accordance with the set DAAD rates and the commitment for the employment at the selected German host university for the whole funding period.

ECTRIMS Postdoctoral Research Fellowship
Scholarship Provider: European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS)
Eligible Students: Scientists and physicians who hold or are candidates for an MD, PhD, ScD or equivalent professional degree are eligible.
Course: Fellowship is available for young neuroscientists to facilitate their conduct of and training in basic, clinical or applied research.
Award Details: The fellowship will provide an annual stipend of €50,000 for all fellows. ECTRIMS will also provide economy round-trip transportation from the successful candidate’s home location to the training site; travel expenses for family members cannot be provided.

University of Bordeaux International Postdoctoral Fellowships
Scholarship Provider: University of Bordeaux, France
Eligible Students: Applicants should hold a doctorate awarded by a non-French institution and be in an incoming mobility situation (not having resided in France for more than 12 months in the last 3 years). Fellows should not hold or have previously held a research position in Bordeaux area.
Course: Fellowships are available for undertaking postdoctoral program at the University of Bordeaux.
Award Details: The funding includes a maximum two-year post-doctoral contract (one-year contract that may be renewed once), and a contribution to project-related fees (travel, consumables, etc.).

ASM/CDC Postdoctoral Research Fellowship
Scholarship Provider: The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
Eligible Students: The program is intended for individuals who either earned their doctorate degree or completed a primary residency within three years of their proposed start date. Applicants may not have a faculty position or be enrolled in a graduate degree program during the fellowship.
Course: Fellowship is awarded for undertaking postdoctoral research.
Award Details: The Fellowship provides an annual stipend (up to $47,032), health benefits (up to $3000 annually) for a maximum of 2 years, relocation benefits (up to $500), and (up to $2000 annually) for professional development for a maximum of 2 years.

Visiting Fellowships for International Students
Scholarship Provider:
Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology
Eligible Students: All international doctoral researchers may apply who are matriculated in a doctoral programme abroad and whose dissertation has a historical, sociological, social-anthropological or political science focus.
Course: This is a four months fellowships programme.
Award Details: The grant consists of a EUR 1,200 stipend per month. This amount will be supplemented by a child allowance if applicable. Upon application, travel costs can also be covered by the Graduate School.

IMMANA Postdoctoral Fellowships
Scholarship Provider: UK Department for International Development (DFID), UK government
Eligible Students: Eligible applicants will have completed a doctorate (PhD, DPhil, DPH, MD, DVM or similar terminal degree) in any field related to agriculture, nutrition and health within three years of the proposed Fellowship start date, and be seeking a career in research, education and engagement at the intersection of two or more of these fields.
Course: Fellowships are available for undertaking postdoctoral research programme.
Award Details: Fellows will receive the following financial support: A fixed stipend of £34,000 (approximately $52,000) paid in quarterly instalments against satisfactory completion of programme milestones, A research allowance of £7,500 to cover travel and other fieldwork expenses also paid as lump sums for achievement of programme milestones and An honorarium of £1,750 to each of the mentors paid in two instalments at mid-term and end of the year, on submission of a satisfactory mentorship report.

ICTP Postdoctoral Fellowships
Scholarship Provider: The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) 
Eligible Students: Postdoctoral Fellowships are intended for young mathematicians with a strong research record. Fellows must have completed a PhD in mathematics prior to the start of their Fellowship.
Course: Fellowships are awarded for pursuing postdoctoral degree programme.
Award Details: The Fellowships have 12-month duration with a possibility to be renewed for a further 12 months.

Rothamsted International Fellowship Scheme
Scholarship Provider: Rothamsted Research Limited, UK
Eligible Students: The Candidate must be a citizen of a developing country, or have been based exclusively within a developing country. Please note that developing countries are defined as the countries listed on the DAC list of ODA recipients.
Course: Fellowship is awarded to mid-career scientists for undertaking research.
Award Details: The fellowship provides funding for: an accommodation and subsistence allowance; one return journey between the home country and Rothamsted; a contribution towards institute/ project research costs.

Postdoctoral Residential Research & Teaching Fellowship
Scholarship Provider: The Carter G. Woodson Institute for African-American and African Studies at the University of Virginia, USA
Eligible Students: The fellowship is open to qualified candidates without restriction as to citizenship or current residence. Applicants for the post-doctoral fellowship must have been awarded their Ph.D. by the time of application or furnish proof from the relevant registrar that all documentation required for the Ph.D. has been submitted by July 15, 2016.
Course: Fellowship is awarded for postdoctoral research & teaching programme at the University of Virginia.
Award Details: The fellowship carries the title of Lecturer and pays an annual (12 month) salary of $45,000, plus full-time benefits.

CEAS Postdoctoral Fellowship in Chinese Studies
Scholarship Provider: The Center for East Asian Studies, Stanford University
Eligible Students: Applicants must have been awarded their Ph.D. no later than August 31 the year in which the fellowship begins, and may not be more than four years beyond receipt of the doctoral degree.
Course: Fellowship is available for undertaking postdoctoral research programme at the Center for East Asian Studies.
Award Details: Applicant will receive stipend of approximately $60,000.

Umberto Veronesi Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowships
Scholarship Provider: Umberto Veronesi Foundation
Eligible Students: Candidates must have at least two original papers or reviews in peer-reviewed international journals of which at least one as first/last/corresponding author.
Course: The 12-month fellowships are available for undertaking research in excellent Italian institutions. The 6-month-long fellowships are available for researchers to spend a 6-month period of work  in a top-level laboratory or clinical department of foreign institutions.
Award Details: The total amount of the fellowship is 27,000.00 Euro for each grant (before tax) for 12 months or 15.000 euro (before tax) for 6 months in case of Travel Grants. The fellowship is aimed only at paying the research salary and cannot be used in other ways (lab reagents and supplies, etc).

Humboldt Research Fellowships for Postdoctoral Researchers
Scholarship Provider: Humboldt Foundation
Eligible Students: Academic publications reviewed according to international standards and printed in journals and/or by publishing houses.
Course: Fellowships are available for postdoctoral researchers to carry out a long-term research project (6-24 months) at a research institution in Germany.
Award Details: The fellowship is worth 2,650 EUR per month. This includes a mobility lump sum and a contribution towards health and liability insurance.

Einstein International Postdoctoral Fellowship
Scholarship Provider: Einstein Foundation
Eligible Students: Junior research group leaders, who are already receiving funding (e.g. from the DFG or an ERC Starting Grant) to set up and establish a junior research group at one of the respective Berlin universities or Charité, are eligible to apply for this programme.
Course: Fellowship is available for a postdoctoral researcher to work in Berlin for up to five years.
Award Details: Funding is available for a postdoctoral researcher (Einstein Postdoctoral Fellow) who must be recruited from abroad by the applicant. The researcher’s remuneration will be based on the collective wage agreement adopted by the state of Berlin and may in exceptional cases equal the income of the junior research group leader.

EMBO Long-Term Fellowships
Scholarship Provider: The EMBO Long-Term Fellowships programme is co-financed by the European Union through the Marie Curie Action “Co-funding of regional, national and international programmes (COFUND)”.
Eligible Students: Applicants who already hold a PhD degree at the time of application are eligible to apply only if they passed their PhD exam in the two years prior to the respective application deadline.
Course: Fellowships support postdoctoral research visits to laboratories throughout Europe and the world.
Award Details: The stipend is a subsistence allowance and is intended to cover the cost of living in the host country.

Killam Postdoctoral Research Fellowship
Scholarship Provider: University of British Columbia
Eligible Students: Applicants must have completed all requirements of their PhD no more than 24 months prior to the anticipated fellowship start date. Completion of PhD requirements refers to the date that the applicant completed all the steps required for obtaining their degree.
Course: Fellowships are available for pursuing postdoctoral research program.
Award Details: An annual stipend of $50,000 for a maximum of two years plus a travel and research allowance of $4,000 over two years.

Marshall Sherfield Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

Eligible Students: To qualify candidates should be citizens of the United States of America normally resident in the USA
Course: Fellowships are to undertake postdoctoral research for a period of one to two academic years at a British university or research institute.
Award Details: The total value of a Marshall Sherfield Fellowship will vary a little according to the circumstances of each Fellow. The emoluments comprise: a laboratory fee or research support grant fixed according to subject (paid direct to host institution); approved airfare to the United Kingdom and return on expiry of the Fellowship and a personal maintenance allowance to cover residence and cost of living expenses ? a grant of up to £200 for approved travel in connection with research programme.

HAB Postdoctoral Fellowships

Eligible Students: The purpose of the Fellowship Programme of the Herzog August Bibliothek (HAB) is to offer researchers from Germany and abroad whose projects would benefit from using the library’s holdings the opportunity to begin, continue or conclude such a project.
Course: Fellowships are available for postdoctoral research programme in Wolfenbüttel.
Award Details: The full fellowship is primarily intended for young researchers who have not taken up a permanent position. It is also meant for scholars who take unpaid research leave. The monthly fellowship allowance is 1.800 EUR. A travel subsidy can be granted to cover the cost of travel to and from Wolfenbüttel.

Umberto Veronesi Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowships
Scholarship Provider: Umberto Veronesi Foundation
Eligible Students: Italian and foreign researchers holding a scientific degree preferably in Medicine, Biological and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnologies. In addition, a clinical and/or post-degree research experience (specialisation or PhD) in health-related fields is required.
Course: The 12-month fellowships are available for undertaking research in excellent Italian institutions. The 6-month-long fellowships are available for researchers to spend a 6-month period of work in a top-level laboratory or clinical department of foreign institutions.
