Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation International Fellowships, USA

Do you want to enhance your skills and learn new things? If so, then, the University of Washington has established the Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships, in collaboration with Institute for Citizens and Scholars for all incoming PhD students.

The fellowship programme will be held for the academic year 2021-2022 and will enable PhD candidates to take up any programme in the humanities or social science department at the University of Washington. Those that complete their dissertation proposal within the deadline are eligible to receive $30,000 for 12 months for full-time dissertation writing.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can pursue PhD studies in the humanities and social sciences, concerning ethical or religious values at UW.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must complete their application by the deadline including approval of the dissertation proposal.
  • The applicants must be in the humanities or social science department, writing on topics where ethical or religious values are a central concern.

  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Proposal document

  • Admission Requirements: Students must have earned at least a 3.0 grade point average (on a 4 point scale) from a regionally accredited college or university in the U.S. or its equivalent from a foreign institution in a master or bachelor degree certificate.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • TOEFL IBT – 92
  • TOEFL PBT – 580
  • TOEFL CBT – 237
  • IELTS – 7.0
