Edinburgh Law School has decided to award the Edinburgh Law and Ewen Cameron Scholarships to international and domestic students for the academic year 2024-2025.

This law scholarship is offered to PhD candidates registered at the Edinburgh Law School of the University of Edinburgh. Full ranges of legal and law-related subjects are eligible to apply for. Students selected will be provided a tuition fee and a stipend of (approximately £18,622 per annum).

  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD study in the Edinburgh Law School at the University of Edinburgh is eligible to undertake.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must be seeking to start their first year of full-time or part-time PhD study in the Edinburgh Law School within the academic year 2024/25.

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: Admission applications for a PhD programme at the law school must be made online. Students can find the scholarship application located in EUCLID.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Previous academic transcripts
  • Degree certificates
  • Degree certificate and transcript from your postgraduate study
  • Two academic references
  • A research proposal
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants are expected to have a UK 2:1 honors degree in law, arts, or social sciences, and a UK masters’ degree with at least 60% in the taught section and 65% or more in the dissertation or their international equivalents.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • IELTS – 7.0
  • TOEFL-iBT – 100
  • CAE/CPE – 185
  • Trinity ISE – SE III with a pass in all four components
  • PTE – 70

Benefits

The selected candidates will be paid PhD tuition fees at Edinburgh and an annual stipend in line with UKRI rates,  (approximately £18,622 per annum).
