Eligibility 

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD degree in microbial genomics, metagenomics and bioinformatics.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • A three-year full-time study within the framework of the regular PhD programme (5+3 scheme), if you already have an education equivalent to a relevant Danish master’s degree.
  • Background in molecular microbiology, bacterial genetics, and evolution.
  • Documented experience working with computational biology and bioinformatics.
  • Considerable expertise in comparative genomics and genetic context-driven research applied to microbiology.
  • Ability to work with command-line tools. Coding skills using standard languages such as Python, R, and bash.
  • They are excited to be part of a team and comfortable working independently.

How to Apply

  • How to Apply: The applicants need to apply through the online portal of the university. After getting enrolled, applicants must complete and submit the online application form.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Original diplomas for Bachelor of Science or Master of Science and transcript of records in the original language, including an official English translation if issued in another language than English or Danish. If not completed, a certified/signed copy of a recent transcript of records or a written statement from the institution or supervisor is accepted.
  • Motivation letter specifying project-related experience.
  • Complete publication list, if any.
  • If available, separate reprints of 2-3 particularly relevant papers.
  • Admission Requirements: To be eligible, applicants must have BSc in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related Biological Sciences field and MSc in Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, or a related Biological Sciences field.
  • Language Requirement: If English is not your first language, you should provide evidence of English language ability: IELTS, TOEFL, or other acceptable proof.
