Miscellaneous types of financial grants and scholarships are provided by private and public organizations to the students of all countries to pursue their further education in their native place or abroad. Generally, it encompasses of several disciplines like psychology, communication, economics, criminology, sociology, linguistics, cultural studies, development studies, law, political science and human geography.

UEA Social Sciences Graduate School Research PhD Studentships in UK, 2020
The University of East Anglia is inviting applicants for the Social Sciences Graduate Research PhD studentships for high achieving candidates in the UK. Applications for all studentships are invited from suitably qualified graduates. The Studentships cover tuition fees (UK/EU rates), a tax-free maintenance grant (currently £15,099 per year), and a research training support grant. International students are welcome to apply; a small number of studentships will be available to cover full international fees.

COSS PhD Scholarship at University of Glasgow in UK, 2018
The University of Glasgow is offering COSS PhD Positionsfor international students. The Position is available to study a PhD in the Adam Smith Business School in the College of Social Sciences under the supervision Professor Sayantan Ghosal and Dr Dania Thomas. The scholarship offers stipend at the RCUK level (£14,777 in 2018-19); 100% tuition fee waiver; access to Research Training Support Grant (RTSG) funds.

Gerda Henkel Fellowships at New Europe College in Romania, 2017
Applications are invited for Gerda Henkel Fellowship from young researchers/academics working in the fields of humanities and social sciences. The selected Fellows are expected to take part in the weekly seminars at the institute together with all the other Romanian and international scholars present at NEC, and in other scientific events organized by the institute. Preference will be given to candidates below the age of 45, and to those who have not yet benefited from a Fellowship at NEC. The application deadline is June 14th 2017.

Quantitative Social Science PhD Scholarship at University of Kent in UK, 2016
The University of Kent is awarding quantitative social science PhD scholarship for September/October 2016 intake. Both UK and international students are eligible to apply for PhD scholarship. The scholarship covers tuition fees at the postgraduate standard home/EU rate (£3,996) in addition to an annual maintenance stipend of £13,863 per annum. The application deadline is 31 January 2016.

50th Anniversary PhD Scholarships at Kent University in UK, 2016
Kent University invites application for 50th Anniversary PhD Scholarship. Scholarships are open to both UK and international students for entry in September/October 2016. The scholarship covers tuition fees at the postgraduate standard home/EU rate in addition to an annual maintenance stipend of £14,057 per annum (for entry in September/October 2016 only). The deadline for applications is  31 January 2016.

2017 Chateaubriand Fellowship in Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), France
Applications are invited for Chateaubriand Fellowship from PhD students who seek to engage in research in France, in any discipline of the Humanities and Social Sciences. Candidates do not have to be U.S. citizens, but they must be enrolled in an American university. However, French citizens are not eligible to apply. HSS Chateaubriand fellows are selected through a merit-based competition, after a binational collaborative evaluation process involving experts from France and the U.S. The application deadline is January 20th, 2016.

 EFEO Field Scholarships for French Students in Asia, 2017
 Scholarships are awarded for research in Humanities or Social sciences applied to the history and civilizations of Asia. Scholarships include a monthly stipend varying between 700 and 1 360 € according to the academic level of the applicant (MA or PhD student) and the country of field research in Asia. The scholarship will be offered for 1 to 6 months. The application deadline is 30 September 2016.

Faculty MA Scholarships for International Students at Lancaster University in UK, 2017
Lancaster University is offering MA scholarships in any department in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. This scholarship is open to full- and part-time non-Home/EU students due to commence their studies during the 2016-2017 academic year. The application deadline is 25 March 2016.

Full Tuition Newcastle University – GREAT funding for Indian Students in UK, 2018
Newcastle University and the British Council India is offering Full tuition fees scholarship starting in September 2018 for one year of study. This scholarship is available to citizens of and permanently resident in India. The studentships are available to pursue an undergraduate and postgraduate degree programme. Financial aid positions will cover the full cost of tuition fees.

Durham International Junior Research Fellowships in UK, 2017
Durham University is inviting applications for international junior research fellowships to pursue new research ideas of researchers’ own design, undertaken in collaboration within academic researchers at Durham. The JRF scheme is aimed at researchers with significant post-doctoral experience, but recent doctorands of exceptional ability and researchers who have followed non-traditional academic career paths are also encouraged to apply. The normal period of the Fellowship will be 2 years, though Fellows can make a case for a shorter or longer period with a minimum of one year and a maximum of 3 years. The application deadline is 04 December 2016.

The Radcliffe Institute Social Science Fellowship Program, 2017
Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study of the Harvard University has invited applications for international social science fellowship program. Fellowships are designed to support scholars, scientists, artists and writers who wish to pursue advanced work in academic and professional fields and in the creative arts. Stipends are funded up to $70,000 for one year with additional funds for project expenses. Applications are judged on the quality and significance of the proposed project and the applicant’s record of achievement and promise.

Japan Foundation Japanese Studies Fellowship Program in Japan, 2017
Applications are invited for Japan Foundation Fellowship Program from foreign scholars and researchers to conduct research in Japan. There are three types of fellowships available i.e. long term fellowship (2-12 months) or short term fellowship (21-59 days) to applicants who hold Ph.D. or equivalent professional experience at the time of application; and doctoral fellowship to applicants who have achieved ABD status by the time the Fellowship begins. The application deadline is December 1, 2016 (applicants who hold U.S. citizenship or permanent residency: November 2, 2016).

A E Hills Postgraduate Scholarship for UK/EU and International Students in UK, 2017
University of Birmingham is offering full-time postgraduate scholarship for new and current full-time PG students. Each year one award is available for UK/EU and international students and will be tenable for one year only. This scholarship is open for both new as well as current full-time PG students.

NEDTC Fully-Funded Postgraduate Studentships in UK, 2017
The North East Doctoral Training Centre (NEDTC) is offering 40 fully-funded postgraduate studentships in the social sciences at either the universities of Durham or Newcastle in the 2016/17 academic year. Award-holders with a comprehensive and attractive package of financial support over the duration of their studies. The deadline for submitting your application and supporting documentation for NEDTC’s 2016/17 studentship competition is 5:00pm on Monday 1 February 2016.

Taught Masters Scholarships at University of Kent in UK, 2017
University of Kent, School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research is funding taught master’s scholarships. MA scholarship covers £500 is in addition to the Kent £1000 loyalty discount. The school will award £500 to all First Class honors degrees (or their non-UK equivalents) and to very good upper 2.1 (i.e., 68 %+), and is subject to academic transcript, references and personal statement.

London Metropolitan University Vice Chancellor’s Research Scholarship Scheme in UK, 2017
London Metropolitan University is offering three Postgraduate Research VC Scholarships (MPhil/PhD) For 2016/17 academic year. Scholarships are awarded in the three areas of research within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities i.e. Social Professions, Media, Culture and Communications and Social Sciences.  All Scholarships cover the cost of Home/EU tuition fees only for the equivalent of up to 3 years full time.

 DAAD/MSH Social Science Scholarships in France
The German Academic Exchange Service awards and House of the Sciences of Man Foundation (MSH) has invited applications for postdoctoral research social science scholarships. Scholarships are available to highly qualified young scientists for undertaking research project at one of the research groups at the MSH itself or other research institutions in France. Scholarships are available for duration up to 6 months, in exceptional cases up awarded to 10 months.

Teaching Assistantship for KSP Visiting Faculty Program in France
The program is available in the field of social sciences and the humanities with special emphasis on the study of the Arab World and the Gulf Region. Individuals from all nationalities may apply. Regarding faculty members, applicants must be full-time officers of instruction of professorial rank. Candidates on sabbatical or on leave will be preferred. Application deadline: 28th January, 2016.

DAAD-GSSP Doctoral Scholarships at Heidelberg University in Germany, 2018
The Heidelberg Graduate School for the Humanities and Social Sciences at Heidelberg University (HGGS), in cooperation with the DAAD Graduate School programme (GSSP) is awarding Doctoral Scholarships.The doctoral scholarships of € 1.200 Euros per month with additional benefits are intended for international applicants and have duration of three years, upon approval of an annual report by the graduate scholar and his or her supervisor.

Onassis Foundation Fellowships Programme for Foreigners in Greece, 2018-2019
Onassis Foundation is offering programmes for international students starting on October 1st, 2018. The studentships are available to University Professors of all levels (PhD holders), postdoctoral researchers (PhD holders), artists, postgraduate students and PhD candidates. A total of ten (10) financial aid positions will be awarded.

TÜBITAK Social Science Scholarship Program for Least Developed Countries, 2014
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBITAK) is  invited applications for graduate scholarship available for the citizens of least developing countries. Maximum duration for the scholarship is 2 years for the Masters and 4 years for the PhD program. The scholarship will consist of a monthly stipend of 1.500 Turkish Liras (TL) for MSc/MA students and a monthly stipend of 1.800 Turkish Liras (TL) for PhD students.

Simon and Deirdre Gaskell Scholarships at Queen Mary, University of London in UK, 2014/2015
Queen Mary University of London is offering masters scholarships for students who completed their undergraduate degree at Queen Mary in 2014. Scholarships are available for full-time taught masters course in the Faculty Social Sciences. There are 3 scholarships available to cover fees up to the value of £6000 each.Application deadline: Closed.
