The Niels Bohr Institute (NBI) is inviting applicants for the PhD Fellowships in Holocene Sea Ice Variability in the Arctic offered by the University of Copenhagen for the academic year 2022-2023.

The project will involve fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and interpretation of ice-core records. During the project, you will investigate how arctic sea ice has varied over the Holocene using multiple sea-ice proxies from the ice cores.

Eligibility        

• Eligible Countries: All nationalities.
• Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD degree in physics, geophysics, environmental sciences, climate science, biology, or chemistry. Prior experience with diatom analysis or projects involving sea ice or land ice cores is an advantage.
• Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:

• Language Requirement: If English is not your first language, you should provide evidence of English language ability: IELTS, TOEFL, or other acceptable proof.

Benefits
